The Winiata family opened its doors to the Whangai Organic Family in 1998. Our focus has always been the relationship with our whenua (land) and sharing this relationship with our guests. With every bite we strive to give you a taste of te Tai Tokerau.

We believe it is our duty to care for te Papa in our time here. So we source our ingredients as locally as possible and we choose sustainable or re-usable packaging always.

Our in house flour is made from a blend of ground Huhu grubs, kumara and potato flours. Every ingredient is locally-sourced and produces a nutritious, gluten-free flour alternative.

Georgia and Bryce are the faces you're most likely to see around the joint. Married for five years the pastry chef and butcher duo are passionate about combining traditional Maori and artisanal cooking methods.

The Whangarei Growers Market is a great way to start your weekend and a constant source of inspiration. Our seasonal specials menu is made possible by the constantly changing variety of produce available.
